Solar Infused Oils Incorporated is a Canadian, family-owned company based in Alberta. Our Education Division was created from our own experience as parents, authors, entrepreneurs and a homeschooling family raising three children.
Our everyday lives are closely connected to books, nature, gardening, animals, practical skills and learning at home. These experiences have shaped an educational approach that values strong academics while helping children understand how knowledge connects to the world around them.
We believe education should build knowledge, confidence, curiosity and a genuine desire to keep learning.
The Solar Infused Oils Incorporated Education Division creates Canadian educational books, Alberta-aligned Teacher Guides, children’s stories, botanical learning resources and practical learning materials for families and educators.
Our resources are created to support:
• Homeschooling families
• Parents supporting learning at home
• Teachers and educational programs
• Tutors and learning facilitators
• Homeschool groups and learning co-ops
• Libraries and community organizations
We also support educational workshops, tutoring, family learning experiences and community partnerships that bring knowledge and practical skills to people of different ages.
The Maplestead Learning Series is our collection of comprehensive Grade 1–6 Teacher Guides created for homeschooling families, parents, tutors and educators seeking organized, meaningful and engaging learning support.
Developed in Alberta, Canada, each guide follows the learning expectations for its respective Alberta grade level while incorporating Canadian content, practical activities, nature study, creativity and real-life learning.
The series was created by a homeschooling family who understands that parents need more than a list of learning outcomes. They need clear explanations, organized learning material, teaching support and flexible activities that can be adapted to the needs of their children.
The Maplestead Learning Series currently includes:
🍁 Grade 1 Alberta Teacher Guide
🍁 Grade 2 Alberta Teacher Guide
🍁 Grade 3 Alberta Teacher Guide
🍁 Grade 4 Alberta Teacher Guide
🍁 Grade 5 Alberta Teacher Guide
🍁 Grade 6 Alberta Teacher Guide
Each grade is published as a separate hardcover Teacher Guide, making it easy for families and educators to select the appropriate level and build a consistent learning collection as their children progress.
Maplestead Learning connects academic education with nature, creativity, practical skills and the world children experience around them.
Each guide provides organized teaching support while allowing parents and educators to adjust the pace, activities and approach to meet the needs of each learner.
The result is a flexible and meaningful learning experience that encourages knowledge, curiosity, confidence and real-world understanding.
These Teacher Guides are created to support the parent, educator or facilitator leading the learning experience.
They are suitable for homeschooling families, parents providing additional learning at home, tutors, learning facilitators, homeschool groups, educational programs and teachers seeking supplementary ideas and activities.
Every family learns differently. Maplestead Learning provides helpful structure while respecting the flexibility families need.
Families can move through the material at a pace that works for them, select activities that suit their circumstances and adapt lessons to their child’s interests, abilities and learning needs.
The guides can be used as a central teaching resource or alongside additional books, worksheets, educational materials and hands-on experiences selected by the family or educator.
The Maplestead Learning Series reflects Canadian places, communities, seasons, history, geography and ways of life.
Created in Alberta, the series offers learning support that feels relevant to Canadian families while encouraging children to understand their local communities, their province, their country and the wider world.
Children often remember learning most clearly when they can see it, discuss it, create something with it or connect it to daily life.
Maplestead Learning encourages education that can take place at the kitchen table, in the garden, on the farm, during nature walks, through books and storytelling, while cooking and creating, and within the local community.
This approach helps children recognize that learning is not limited to a desk or classroom. It is part of everyday life.
With individual Teacher Guides available from Grade 1 through Grade 6, families can maintain a familiar learning philosophy and organized structure from one year to the next.
